Aaven is a news and audio-briefing app. This page explains, plainly, what happens to your information when you use it.
The short version: Aaven doesn't have user accounts, doesn't run its own servers, doesn't use advertising or analytics services, and doesn't collect or transmit your personal information to us or to any third party. Everything Aaven does — reading your preferences, summarizing articles, generating speech — happens locally on your device.
Aaven doesn't ask you to create an account, log in, or provide your name, email, or any other identifying information to use the app.
Aaven reads news from sources you explicitly choose — either built-in publisher feeds you turn on, or custom sites you add yourself by URL. When you refresh your briefing, your device connects directly to those sources' own servers to retrieve articles. There is no Aaven server in the middle: we don't operate any backend that receives, logs, or relays your requests, so we have no record of what you read or when.
On supported iPhones, Aaven downloads its on-device neural voice model once, in the background. Aaven doesn't include any of your personal information or listening activity in this download. After the download, the voice runs entirely on your device. You can turn the neural voice off in Settings.
For each article, Aaven creates its own short spoken summary — sometimes written by Apple's on-device AI, sometimes assembled from the article's own leading sentences — and reads it aloud using an on-device speech engine. Either way, this happens entirely on your device: article text and audio are never uploaded anywhere. The original article itself is never altered or republished — Aaven's summary is a separate, independent piece of audio, and the source article stays exactly as its publisher wrote it, one tap away.
Your preferences (selected categories, sources, voice, and playback settings) and a local cache of recent articles are stored only in Aaven's own app storage on your device. None of it is sent to us or synced to any Aaven-operated service. Like any app, this data may be included in your device's own iOS backups (iCloud, Finder, etc.) — that's standard iOS behavior governed by Apple, not something Aaven separately controls. Deleting the app removes this data from your device.
Aaven does not include any advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or third-party tracking libraries. We don't know how you use the app beyond what's necessary for it to function on your own device.
Aaven Plus subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Aaven never receives or stores your payment details — that transaction is governed by Apple's own privacy policy, not this one.
Aaven does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
